Our Morocco Madness retreat will take you across three cities and you’ll come to truly feel the difference between a traveler and a foreigner. Forget the ‘chi chi frou frou’ instagrammable, romanticized Morocco everyone longs for. We want you to connect with our traditional North African culture. Yes there will be breathtaking Riyads, luxurious palaces and Souqs (market places) but what makes Morocco so unique is the warmth of its people and the blend of African, Arab and Berber heritage. Morocco Madness will be a unique 9 day road trip across 3 cities. Casablanca, Chefchawen and Fes. If you dig a genuine experience; bring a book, a pillow or lover, a friend, podcasts, a set of dominoes and your sense of adventure.

Who is Mustafa Briggs?
Join us on this extraordinary road trip through Morocco, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to travel alongside Mustafa Briggs, a celebrated writer, lecturer, and educator renowned for his profound exploration of Black History in Islam. Mustafa’s acclaimed “Beyond Bilal” series uncovers the deep-rooted connections between Islam and Black history, showcasing the contributions of Black figures in the Islamic narrative.
On this journey, Mustafa will enrich our experience with his deep knowledge and captivating storytelling, bringing to life the rich tapestry of Morocco’s African, Arab, and Berber heritage. Whether wandering through ancient Souqs, marveling at luxurious palaces, or embracing the warmth of Moroccan hospitality, his insights will provide a deeper connection to the cultural and historical significance of the places we visit.

Morocco Road Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Arrivals & Introductions
Arrive at the Fes airport and meet one of our team members. He will assist and connect you to a driver (a reminder that airport pick up/drop off are not included). From there, you’ll make your way to our Riad to relax, unwind and mingle. Our team will be there to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. After some downtime, we will meet again on the rooftop for tea, introductions and much needed banter.
Day 2: Explore Fes!
Begin with a delicious traditional Moroccan breakfast and get ready for a great day! Today, we’ll explore the Medina of Fes and visit its mosques, shops, artisans, tanneries and university. This will be lengthy tour, please be sure wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and an umbrella (for shade if need be). We will meet again in the evening for our first class with Sidi Mustafa Briggs.

After lunch, you will enjoy free time to shop, nap and reset. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM and class with Mustafa Briggs will begin at 7:45 PM.
Day 3: Free day in Fes!
We begin the day with lass at 10:00 AM. Afterwards, you’ll Enjoy your last day off in Fes! Spend time at the Masjid, book a Hamam experience, walk around the Medina and shop away!
Day 4: Painting on Pottery (optional $20 USD)
Today is dedicated to art and tea. Enjoy painting on Fes Pottery while getting to know one another. If you wish to explore the Madinah some more, we will head out for a walk and show you some gems.
We will meet again at 8:00 PM for class.
Day 5: Departure for Chefchawen
Today we go to the beautiful city of Chefchawen where we will spend 3 beautiful and relaxing days. The drive is 5 hours, please wear comfortable shoes and clothes for the journey. We ask that you only pack a carry-on and backpack for the next 3 days, there are 160 stairs between the front gate and the main entrance of our hotel. Pack everything you’ll need for 4 days (including travel days)- this will make things much easier for the porters.
Departure time 9:00 AM.
Drive duration: 5 hours
Upon arrival at our hotel, we will check into our hotel and enjoy dinner. We will meet again at 8:00 PM for class with Mustafa Briggs.
Day 6: Chefchawen Exploration Day
We’ll begin our day with a guided tour of Chefchaouen, you’ll learn about its history and culture. You will be dismissed (before lunch) and you’ll enjoy the rest of the day exploring the beautiful Blue City.
Free time from 1:00 PM-8:00 PM.
Class with Mustafa Briggs at 8:00 PM.
Day 7: Free day!
Enjoy a free day in the Blue City or take a trip to a secret forest and waterfalls ($30 per person). The choice is yours!

Day 8: Casablanca
The drive to Casablanca is 5 hours (give or take 45 mins due to traffic). Departure time will be at 8:45 and arrival in Casa will be at 2:30 PM. We will head straight to lunch to one of our favorite restaurant in the city and check into our hotel for the last night at 6:00 PM. Upon check in, we’ll freshen up and head to Hassan II mosque at around sunset.
Day 9: Departure
Travel safe insh’Allah! We’re sad to see you go, we pray that you enjoyed every experience and moment with us!
