This trip was truly magical. Everything about it was thought through and it was curated to perfection. Wafa went above and beyond to ensure that the trip was enjoyable for everyone. She really does care about every aspect of the trip and people in the group. Wafa is so attentive and always makes an effort to provide comfort and a memorable experience for all. This was my first trip with Burgundy roots and will certainly not be the last. The whole travel experience was second to none; from the group of people to the accommodation, food, service, and communication. I couldn’t have asked for more. Burgundy roots has exceeded my expectations.

Roots in Zanzibar 2024

What an absolutely epic trip! Our itinerary was so thoughtfully put together, with a great balance between relaxed days and activities. The hotels were great, it was well organised and all aspects of our comfort were taken care of. And above all there was a huge amount of care taken to ensure that the place and culture that we were honoured to partake in were respected. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Looking forward to my next Burgundy Roots trip.

I loved the variety: the southeast coast (paje beach), the north (nungwi) and the stone town :). The hotels were very clean, comfy and also boujee. I love how Wafa selects restaurants, and places/sites which supports the locals. Not only does it feel good that we are doing vacation but also investing in local business. The food was so fresh and organic. I felt my health become better. I tried and saw many NEW things such as star fruit, passion fruit, holding and seeing new breeds of monkeys, kite surfing, seeing low and high tide of a beachetc. I got to buy and bring back such quality spices as zanzibar has amazinggg spices and is known for it. People overall were quite friendly and polite. Wafa is also very kind and you can go have open convos with her.
